The canton Dol-de-Bretagne (Breton canton Dol ) is a French constituency in the arrondissement of Saint-Malo , in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine and in the region of Brittany ; its main town is Dol-de-Bretagne .
history
The canton was established on February 15, 1790. From 1801 to 2015, eight municipalities belonged to the canton of Dol-de-Bretagne (until 1924 canton Dol). With the reorganization of the cantons in France, the number of communes rose to 31. In addition to the previous communes of the old canton of Dol-de-Bretagne, there were all 11 communes of the canton of Pleine-Fougères , all 9 communes of the canton of Châteauneuf-d'Ille- et-Vilaine and three of the previous six municipalities in the canton of Cancale .

The old canton of Dol-de-Bretagne consisted of eight municipalities on an area of 137.51 km². These were: Baguer-Morvan , Baguer-Pican , Cherrueix , Dol-de-Bretagne (main town), Epiniac , Mont-Dol , Roz-Landrieux and Le Vivier-sur-Mer .

politics
In the first ballot on March 22, 2015, none of the four voting pairs achieved an absolute majority. In the runoff election on March 29, 2015, the pairing Jean-Luc Bourgeaux (UMP / LR) / Agnès Toutant (DVD) won against Sophie De Prat / Fabien Pedezert (both FN ) with a share of the vote of 72.50% (voter turnout: 51, 79%).
