Sains ( Breton : Sent , Gallo : Saent ) is a French municipality with 483 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine in the region of Brittany . It belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Malo and the canton of Dol-de-Bretagne (until 2015: canton of Pleine-Fougères ). The inhabitants are called Sainsois .

Sains is about 36 kilometers east-southeast of Saint-Malo . Sains is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Marcan and Roz-sur-Couesnon in the north, Saint-Georges-de-Gréhaigne in the east and north-east, Pleine-Fougères in the south and south-east, La Boussac in the south-west and Saint-Broladre in the west and north-west .
