The municipality has 326 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) and belongs to the Arrondissement of Saint-Malo and the canton of Combourg . The inhabitants are called Lourmaisiens .

Lourmais is located about 28 kilometers south-southeast of Saint-Malo . Lourmais is surrounded by the neighboring communities Bonnemain in the north, Trémeheuc in the east and south-east and Combourg in the south and west.
