Plerguer ( Breton : Plergar ) is a French municipality with 2722 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine in the region of Brittany ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Malo and the canton of Dol-de-Bretagne (until 2015: canton of Châteauneuf-d'Ille-et-Vilaine ). The inhabitants are called Plerguerrois in French .

geography

Plerguer is about 18 kilometers southeast of Saint-Malo . The Meleuc flows at the western boundary of the municipality . Plerguer is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Guinoux and Lillemer in the north, Roz-Landrieux in the east and northeast, Baguer-Morvan in the east and southeast, Le Tronchet in the south and Miniac-Morvan in the west.

The national route 176 runs through the municipality . The municipality's train station is on the Lison – Lamballe railway line .
