Saint-Jouan-des-Guérets ( Breton Sant-Yowan-an-Havreg ) is a municipality with 2,646 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in Brittany in north-western France in the Ille-et-Vilaine department . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Malo and the canton of Saint-Malo-2 (until 2015: canton of Saint-Malo-Sud ). The inhabitants are called Jouannais (es) .

Saint-Jouan-des-Guérets is located on the eastern bank of the Rance estuary . Saint-Jouan-des-Guérets is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Malo in the north, Saint-Méloir-des-Ondes in the north-east, Saint-Père-Marc-en-Poulet in the east and south-east and on the other bank of the Saint Estuary -Suliac in the south, Le Minihic-sur-Rance in the southwest and Pleurtuit in the west.

The former route nationale 137 (today's D137) runs through the municipality .
