The Canton Rennes-2 (Breton Canton Roazhon-2 ) is a French constituency in the District Rennes , in Ille-et-Vilaine and in the region of Brittany .

The canton was created in 2015 with the reorganization of the cantons in France from parts of dissolved cantons in the city of Rennes.

The canton is located in the center of the Ille-et-Vilaine department.

The canton comprises several quarters in the east of the city of Rennes and has 41,186 inhabitants.

politics

In the first ballot on March 22, 2015, none of the five voting pairs achieved an absolute majority. In the runoff election on March 29, 2015, Damien Bongart / Catherine Debroise (both PS) won against Antoine Cressard / Laurence Taillandier (both Union de la Droite) with 58.77% of the vote (turnout: 46.35%).
