The canton Antrain (Breton canton Entraven ) is a French constituency in the arrondissements of Fougères-Vitré and Rennes , in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine and in the region of Brittany ; its main town is Val-Couesnon .
history
The canton was established on February 15, 1790. From 1801 to 2015, ten municipalities belonged to the canton of Antrain. With the reorganization of the cantons in France, the number of communes rose to 31. In addition to the previous communes of the old canton of Antrain, all 11 communes of the previous canton of Saint-Brice-en-Coglès and 10 of the 15 communes of the previous canton of Saint-Aubin- d'Aubigné added.

Canton of Antrain by 2015
The old canton of Antrain consisted of ten communities on an area of 220.29 km². These were: Antrain (main town), Bazouges-la-Pérouse , Chauvigné , La Fontanelle , Marcillé-Raoul , Noyal-sous-Bazouges , Rimou , Saint-Ouen-la-Rouërie , Saint-Rémy-du-Plain and Tremblay .

In the first ballot on March 22, 2015, none of the four voting pairs achieved an absolute majority. In the runoff election on March 29, 2015, the team Aymar De Gouvion Saint Cyr (UMP / LR) / Laëtitia Meignan (Union de la Droite) won against Henri Rault / Florence Rio-Danielou (both DVG ) with a share of the vote of 50.09% (Turnout: 51.64%).
