Cintré ( Breton : Kentreg ; Gallo : Ceintraé ) is a French municipality with 2278 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine in the region of Brittany ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Rennes and the canton of Le Rheu (until 2015: canton of Mordelles ). The inhabitants are called Cintréens .
geography
Cintré is 13 kilometers west of Rennes and is bounded to the west by the river Meu . Cintré is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Breteil in the north and north-west, La Chapelle-Thouarault in the north and north-east, Mordelles in the south and east and Talensac in the west and south-west.
