Servon-sur-Vilaine is a French commune with 3,676 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine in the region of Brittany ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Rennes and the canton of Châteaugiron . The inhabitants are called Servonnais (es) .
geography
The place is on the river Vilaine about 16 kilometers east of Rennes . Servon-sur-Vilaine is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Bouëxière in the north, Châteaubourg in the east, Domagné in the south-east, Noyal-sur-Vilaine in the south and south-west, Brécé in the south-west and Acigné in the west.
Route nationale 157 (which is to be upgraded to the A81 ) runs through the municipality . Servon-sur-Vilaine train station is on the Paris – Brest railway line .
