geography

The place is on the river Vilaine about 16 kilometers east of Rennes . Servon-sur-Vilaine is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Bouëxière in the north, Châteaubourg in the east, Domagné in the south-east, Noyal-sur-Vilaine in the south and south-west, Brécé in the south-west and Acigné in the west.

Route nationale 157 (which is to be upgraded to the A81 ) runs through the municipality . Servon-sur-Vilaine train station is on the Paris – Brest railway line .
