Saint-Gilles Church

Saint-Gilles ( Breton : Sant-Jili-Roazhon ) is a French municipality with 4984 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine in the region of Brittany ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Rennes and the canton of Melesse . The inhabitants are called Saintgillois (es) .

Saint-Gilles is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Clayes and Parthenay-de-Bretagne in the north, Gévezé in the northeast, Pacé in the east, L'Hermitage in the south and southeast, La Chapelle-Thouarault in the south, Breteil in the west and southwest and Pleumeleuc in the northeast .

The National Route 12 runs through the municipality .
