Gianluca Arrighi
Gianluca Arrighi (born October 3, 1972 in Rome ) is an Italian writer and lawyer specializing in criminal law.
Life
After successfully graduating from La Sapienza University in criminal law and enrolling in the Bar, he made his narrative debut with the novel Crimina romana . This novel was adopted as a textbook and as a law-abiding educational tool in several Roman schools. In his fight against the growing phenomenon of juvenile delinquency, the President of the Province of Rome , Nicola Zingaretti , organized several judicial conferences, where Arrighi met hundreds of students to answer their questions about crimes and offenses.
From 2010 to 2011 Arrighi wrote a number of crime fiction short stories for various magazines and national newsrooms.
In February 2012 he published his second novel, Vincolo di sangue , based on the legal case of Rosalia Quartararo who killed her daughter in the summer of 1993. This case shocked the public. Rosalia Quartararo was indeed entered in the annals of criminal history among the most merciless murderers.
In 2012, Mediaset , the main Italian commercial television station, listed lawyer Gianluca Arrighi among the best Italian thriller writers.
His third novel, L'inganno della memoria , was published in March 2014, in which Arrighi breathes life into his fictional literary character Elia Preziosi. This character mirrors an enigmatic, dismissive attorney for the Prosecutor's Office of the Italian Republic in Rome.
L'inganno della memoria is the best-selling Italian legal thriller of 2014.
In March 2015, a year after L'inganno della memoria was published , Arrighi suffered persecution and intimidation of a stalker who was identified by police and convicted by a Roman court. The perpetrator, an aspiring writer, confessed to the investigators, because of his envy of the success of Arrighi to have pursued him.
The action of Arrighi's short stories and novels almost always takes place in Rome, and the author is considered a master of tension.
