"Crime & Co." started on July 28, 1996 on DF1 together with its sister stations "Herz & Co." and "Comedy & Co." In May 2002, as part of a rebranding of all Premiere channels, the station was renamed "Premiere Krimi". Since the name was changed from Premiere to Sky in July 2009, the station has been known by its current name and has been moved from the film package back to the "Sky Welt" basic package.

Amongst other things:

Interrupt advertising in the current program

On January 20, 2016 it was announced that Sky is giving up the previously actively advertised freedom of advertising within current programs; So-called interruption advertising was previously only common in advertising-financed free TV and was used to distinguish it from pay-TV . The first commercial breaks and program information during the current program have been broadcast regularly on Sky Krimi since mid-January 2016 ; the interruptions can last up to a minute. In a press release, the broadcaster announced that in future commercial breaks will only be excluded on the two channels Sky Cinema HD and Sky Atlantic HD ; for Sky, the introduction of advertising is also a "service issue" for customers. The reference to advertising-free television was gradually removed from Sky’s own advertising with the new offer and package structure introduced in December 2015.
