Auszeit is a German television film by Urs Egger from 2006. It is the 11th film in the ZDF crime film series Das Duo .

action

Lizzy Krüger's eleventh case is a very personal one for the young inspector. During the last police operation, she had to shoot a violent criminal in self-defense. She has still not finished with that and therefore takes a few days off at the family's own riding stud. Her mother runs it together with Lizzy's stepfather Per Flemming. When Lizzy rides out in the country with Per, he suffers a heart attack and dies. Although the family doctor reports that her heart has been damaged, Lizzy begins to doubt the natural death of her family member and applies for an autopsy. It turns out that the victim had been administered Clenbuterol , a calf fattening agent , for a long period of time , so that the heart was irreparably damaged. Commissioner Marion Ahrens begins to investigate together with assistant Uschi Jacobs. Lizzy Krüger is officially not supposed to work because of the family involvement in the case. Nevertheless, she does research in the area around the riding stables and learns of a serious argument between Per and the farmer Ulf Rönne. She suspects the argument may be related to the murder. She learns from her mother that Per had a relationship with Rönne's wife. Contrary to his many other affairs, this had become very important to him and he intended to leave his wife.

Meanwhile, Commissioner Ahrens finds out that Per Flemming was a silent partner in a rather seedy betting company and had recently withdrawn. With it he secretly operated horse bets and won a six-figure sum, which he then transferred abroad. Tizia Flemming can't explain that and doesn't know anything about the money. Ahrens doesn't believe her and when the inspector finds out that her husband wanted to leave her, Lizzy's mother is arrested.

Lizzy Krüger, on the other hand, can secure high-dose Clenbuterol from Ulf Rönne, which now makes him the main suspect. But since he only found out about his wife's relationship with Per Flemming a week ago, he cannot have poisoned him for months out of jealousy. There are also no fingerprints whatsoever from him on the Clenbuterol bottle that was found, which suggests that someone has put the drug on him. Lizzy Krüger begins to suspect the employee of the stud, Anna Fink. Various small indications point to this. She had already noticed for a while that the young woman must be pregnant and when she specifically asked Anna about it and presented her evidence against her, she caved in and explained that she did not want to watch Per go abroad with another woman goes where she would have loved him.

Through all the events, Lizzy Krüger decides to extend her time off indefinitely and to stay with her mother at the riding stables.

criticism

Tilmann P. Gangloff from tittelbach.tv said: “A captivating story. A crime thriller - also because Urs Egger and cameraman Kukula are in their element. ”“ On the one hand, Ann-Kathrin Kramer, the cheerful character from the Bergisches Land, was a bad cast from the start. With her bobble hats and baby blue eyes, this woman just didn't fit into a crime series. On the other hand, this element was a delightful contrast to the rather melancholy-looking Charlotte Schwab. Today, however, the delicate and the hard will determine for the last time: Kramer gets out; Lizzy Krüger is giving back her brand. "

The critics of the television magazine TV Spielfilm gave the best possible rating (thumbs up) and found: "A strong exit by investigator Kramer".
