In the wrong life is a German television film by Connie Walther from 2002. It is the first film in the ZDF crime film series Das Duo .

action

The young detective inspector Lizzy Krüger is moving from Hamburg to Lübeck. There she meets her new boss Marion Ahrens and the two of them are faced with a new murder case. In a cutter, the body of a naked young woman lies frozen in the refrigerator. The ship's owner is Steffen Baeck and since he was the last on the ship, the first suspicions fall on him. Ahrens and Krüger look for him and find out that the victim was Steffen Baeck's lover. His wife knew about the relationship and tolerated it out of love for her husband.

In the course of their research, Ahrens and Krüger find out that Steffen Baeck is involved in crooked business and has got involved with smugglers. He is arrested but denies anything to do with the murder. Commissioner Ahrens suspects the solution to the case in the family circumstances of the Baecks. Ellen Baeck loves her husband idolatrously, and Ahrens thinks her capable of murder. But suddenly it has disappeared. The search for her leads back to the ship. In the end, the unstable woman admits to having locked her husband's lover in the refrigerator.

Lissy Krüger's start in Lübeck is not easy. She has a very distant relationship with her new boss and her new colleague Benno Polenz, who had hoped for Kruger’s position, is reserved for her.

criticism

Rainer Tittelbach from tittelbach.tv said: “A successful debut for the duo Charlotte Schwab and Ann-Kathrin Kramer. The chemistry in the team is at least as important as the case. And that's not good at first. 'They are not friends, but neither are they enemies,' says Ann-Kathrin Kramer, 'they also do not fulfill the well-known buddy principle.' Strong direction, strong location Lübeck - very promising! "

In Quotenmeter.de Julian Miller evaluated: "There are strong variations in quality that make you despair sometimes seemingly about this movie. Regine Bielefeldt's script, which was based on an idea by Christine Hartmann, has its great, authentic scene with strong dialogues, but then again its logic errors and incomprehensible steps. ”“ In principle, a lot has been done right, the dramaturgical faulty constructions fall but still significant. "

The critics of the TV magazine TV Spielfilm gave the best possible rating (thumbs up) and found: “Realistic and with a psychological touch.” As an overall conclusion they drew “Successful debut of a successful team”.

Ulrich Feld from the Frankfurter Neue Presse rated it just as positively : "The story still had potential for a more extensive milieu study. [...] But even so, the film is definitely worth seeing. "
