Maya Bothe (* 1978 in Braunschweig ) is a German actress .

Life

Maya Bothe, who grew up in Braunschweig and completed her Abitur at the Raabeschule grammar school , received her training from 2002 to 2005 at the Westphalian Drama School in Bochum . She made her first stage experiences in the years 1993 to 1997 in children's roles at the Braunschweig State Theater .

She accepted her first engagement in 2005 at the Schauspielhaus Bochum . There she played Helena in William Shakespeare's play A Midsummer Night's Dream, directed by Thomas Dannemann . In 2006, she was engaged again at the State Theater Braunschweig and moved in the same year at the Theater in der Josefstadt in Vienna , where it until 2008 in The Seagull by Chekhov and Dangerous Liaisons on the novel by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos , directed performed by Janusz Kica .

She has also been in front of the camera since 2004. While still a drama student, she appeared in the feature film The Free Will . This was followed by roles in television series such as Das Duo , Tatort and Kommissar Stolberg . She gained particular fame through the lead role of Commissioner Alex Keller, who she impersonated from 2009 to 2013 at the side of Christian Berkel and Frank Giering , until his death, in the television series Der Kriminalist .
