Harald Maack (born November 12, 1955 in Stelle ) is a German actor .

Life

Harald Maack grew up in Lower Saxony . After graduating from high school , he first completed an apprenticeship as a freight forwarder at Lexzau, Scharbau GmbH & Co. in Hamburg .

In 1978 he received his first guest engagement at the Hamburg Ohnsorg Theater . He then completed an acting training at the Hamburg Drama Studio Frese from 1979 to 1983 . After that he had various theater engagements. Maack initially went to the Ingolstadt City Theater with a beginner's contract . Guest contracts at the Schlosstheater Celle and the Stadttheater Freiburg followed . In 1985 he played in Vienna at the Theater in der Josefstadt under the direction of Klaus Emmerich the role of Azolan in the Austrian premiere of the play dangerous love affairs by Christopher Hampton . He also appeared in the Josefstadt as Valmont in Heiner Müller's play Quartet .

In 1990 Maack returned to Hamburg, where he continued to play theater. From 1991 to 1994 he could be seen in the Kulturfabrik Kampnagel as Der Merkl Franz in Ödön von Horváth's play Kasimir und Karoline in a production by Thomas Mattschoß . In 1997 he took over Fernando in the tragedy Stella by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe , also in a production by Thomas Mattschoss . In 2002 he played in Patrick Süskind's monologue Der Kontrabass at the NN Theater in Hamburg . In 2004 he worked with the Hamburger Jedermann in the Speicherstadt . In the 2006/2007 season he played in Elling by Axel Hellstenius at the Low German August Hinrichs stage in Oldenburg .

Maack made his first experiences in front of the camera in the 1980s. In 1982 he played the lead role in the comedy Congratulations . In 1991 he played in the movie Karniggels by Detlev Buck . In 1992 he had a supporting role in Schtonk! .

Maack has appeared regularly in German-language television and film productions since the 1990s. He took on several continuous series roles, recurring episode and guest roles.

Maack achieved particular fame among the television audience through two continuous series roles in productions of the Second German Television . From 1995 to 2007 he played the good-natured and understanding porter Schmollke in over 80 episodes alongside Mariele Millowitsch and Walter Sittler , affectionately known as Schmolli in the series, in the early evening series girl friends . From 2007 he then took on a similar role in the ZDF series Notruf Hafenkante . There he is as police chief commissioner Jörn Wollenberger , this time affectionately known as wool , the good soul of the police station.

Maack had a recurring episode role since 2005 as Dr. Wilhelmy in the ARD television series The Thick .
