Martin Kukula

Martin Kukula (born December 5, 1957 in Wiesbaden , † November 1, 2013 in Berlin ) was a German cameraman .

Life

After studying at the Berlin University of the Arts , Kukula began working in film in the early 1980s. In Wilde Clique by Hannelore Conradsen and Dieter Köster , he took on the role of Bruno Pellworm . Later Kukula worked as a camera assistant in films by Hajo Gies ( Tooth for a Tooth ) or Claude Chabrol ( Dr. M ) .

From 1988 to 1989 he was able to continue his education at the American Film Institute through an airlift scholarship .

Kukula has worked repeatedly with director Wolfgang Becker . He led the camera in the films Butterflies (1988), Tatort: ​​Blutwurstwalzer (1991), Children's Games (1992), Life is a Construction Site (1997) and Good Bye, Lenin! (2002).

For the television series Tatort , Kukula worked as a cameraman in the episodes Blutwurstwalzer (1991), Blutdiamanten (2006), Mann über Bord (2006), Rabenherz (2009) and Borowski and the fourth man (2010). Kukula also filmed episodes of the television series Das Duo (2006) and Polizeiruf 110 (2007). With director Urs Egger , Kukula made 15 television films, including a. Kukula taught as a guest lecturer at the International Film School in Cologne .

On the morning of November 1, 2013, he died in his apartment in Berlin as a result of a serious illness.
