Tilman Günther (born March 1969 in Halle an der Saale ) is a German actor .

Life

Growing up in Halle, he studied acting at the Hans Otto Theater School in Leipzig from 1990 to 1994 . During his studies he was engaged as an actor on stage and in front of the camera. He played alongside Christiane Hörbiger and Francis Fulton-Smith in the TV drama I desire you . In the remake of the Radetzkymarsch by Joseph Roth in 1995 he played the leading role of Carl Joseph von Trotta alongside international stars such as Max von Sydow and Charlotte Rampling . This was followed by engagements at repertoire and private theaters in Hamburg, Dresden, Berlin ( Schlossparktheater ) as well as in film and television productions.

For Radetzkymarsch Günther received the Adolf Grimme Prize with gold in 1995 (together with Axel Corti , Gernot Roll and Max von Sydow ).

Tilman Günther is the father of two children and lives in Berlin.
