German table tennis championship 1931
The first national German table tennis championship took place on March 28 and 29, 1931 in Magdeburg , organized by the German table tennis association DTTB . The singles were won by Nikita Madjaroglou for men and Astrid Krebsbach for women . In doubles, Nikita Madjaroglou / Heinz Nickelsburg won in the men and Berg / Markmann in the women. Astrid Krebsbach / Cassius Weynand became champions in mixed .
"For the first time in its history, the German Table Tennis Association held an army show on all of its player material and for this purpose had invited all players to the newly created" Bundesspiele "in Magdeburg."
In Germany gaming operations had been organized in eight districts since 1930. Each of these districts was up to five men and three women for participating in this German championship - the then Federal Games was - Report. The members of the national team at the time ( German national team ), six men and three women, were also entitled to participate. The tournament director was E. Bernick from Magdeburg, the president of the district V.
On March 28th, a Saturday, the tournament began with preliminary fights . The national players did not have to take part in these. The top eight men and four women qualified for the finals on Sunday, March 29th, almost "almost all of them".
