Kuckuckszeit is a German drama of director John fabrick from 2007. In the lead roles embody Inka Friedrich and Wotan Wilke Mohring the couple Claudia and Jens standing in front of the financial abyss.

action

Claudia and Jens live happily ever after with their children Katja and Max in the small town of Barstedt. Jens runs a small construction company and Claudia is living her dream of being a housewife who doesn't have to worry about anything but the household and the two children.

But everything gets into trouble when Jens and his company go bankrupt. The bank no longer pays out money, the joint account is blocked. It happens as it had to: The two no longer know how to finance their own livelihood, let alone that of their children.

Jens cannot cope with the health situation: He is hospitalized with a heart attack. Now Claudia is completely on her own and even improvises the management of the small construction company. But none of it helps: Claudia can no longer avert the bankruptcy of the construction company. In the end, Claudia and Jens lose everything. They also have to sell their own home and, as a result, move into a socially supported apartment with the children. This devaluation of the previously accustomed quality of life puts the marriage of the two into a tough test. Claudia now works as a saleswoman, while Jens is not really sure what to do all day.
