Kai Ivo Baulitz (born August 18, 1971 in Düsseldorf ) is a German actor and author .

life and career

After finishing school, Baulitz completed an acting training at the drama school in Bochum . He received his first permanent engagement at the Deutsches Theater in Göttingen . There he appeared from 1998 to 2000 in the theater plays The Threepenny Opera by Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill , in Stella by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe , in a stage version by Pünktchen and Anton by Erich Kästner and in Faith, Love, and Hope by Ödön von Horváth .

His career on German television began in the late 1990s. He took on several continuous series roles, recurring episode roles and guest roles.

Baulitz has been in continuous series roles, including as Chief Police Officer Henner Schütt in SOKO Wismar , as Peter in Friends forever and as Henning in Suddenly Papa - Objection rejected! to see.

In 1999 Kai Ivo Baulitz played the young Jakob Abs in the four-part television series Anniversaries based on the novel by Uwe Johnson , directed by Margarethe von Trotta . In 2001 he took on a leading role in the television film Has he Work? by Kai Wessel . In the same year he also played in the television drama Vera Brühne by Hark Bohm . In 2006 he had a small role in the film The Lives of Others by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck .

Kai Ivo Baulitz also works as a writer of plays , as a screenwriter and as acting coach . In 2006 he won the writing competition Eine Jugend in Deutschland organized by the Maxim-Gorki-Theater and the Schauspiel Frankfurt as an author with his drama text Transporter , which premiered in 2008 at the Schauspiel Frankfurt . Baulitz wrote a stage version of the novella Michael Kohlhaas by Heinrich von Kleist for the Dresden theater . He also wrote the libretto for the opera Fanny and bolt of Jan Müller-Wieland .

Kai Ivo Baulitz lives in Berlin . He is married to the actress Elisabeth Baulitz .
