Matthias Leonhardt (born September 12, 1982 as Matthias Müller ) is a Swiss orienteer . At the 2010 World Championships , he won the gold medal in the sprint.

Müller, who lives in Winterthur and competes for the clubs Södertälje-Nykvarn in Sweden and Bussola OK in Switzerland, was nominated for the Junior World Championships in 2002, where he finished 14th and 19th. In 2004 and 2005 he made his debut at European and World Championships . He finally won his first major international medals in 2007 at the Open Nordic Championships in Bornholm , when he finished third in the sprint and won gold with the relay together with Baptiste Rollier and Matthias Merz . In 2009, Müller missed the World Championships in Miskolc, HungaryIn the middle distance race, he just barely made it onto the podium, the following year should be the most successful in Müller's career so far. In Primorsko he won gold at the European championships with the relay (with Fabian Hertner and Matthias Merz) and came in the top ten in all individual competitions. At the World Championships in Trondheim in August , he won the gold medal in the sprint ahead of his compatriot Fabian Hertner. With Matthias Merz and Daniel Hubmann , he also won the bronze medal in the relay.

Müller has not yet won the Swiss championship title. However, he won the bronze medal in the sprint four times and the silver medal in the relay in 2004.
