Jarkko Huovila (born November 15, 1975 ) is a Finnish orienteer . In 2001 he became world champion with the Finnish relay.

When he first participated in the World Cup in 2001 in his home country, the Finnish relay team with Jani Lakanen , Huovila, Juha Peltola and Janne Salmi won the title. The Finns won silver in Switzerland in 2003, as they did later in 2006 at the World Championships in Denmark. In 2004 Huovila, Pasi Ikonen and Mats Haldin became European champions in the relay race. In individual competitions Huovila celebrated his greatest successes in the middle distance. At the 2004 European Championships in Roskilde , he won the silver medal. In 2005 he was third behind the French Thierry Gueorgiou and the DaneChris Terkelsen , 2006 vice world champion behind the Norwegian Holger Hott Johansen .

Huovila lived in Norway between 2000 and 2006 and started for the Norwegian top club Halden SK , with which he won the Jukola in 2000 and 2003. He also won the Norwegian middle distance championship in 2003 and 2005, the Norwegian ultralong distance championship in 2005 and the night running championship in 2002 and 2005. In 2006 he moved back to Finland and has been running for the Tampereen Pyrintö club ever since . In Finland he won the national championship with the Delta club in 1996 and 1999, and in 2007 and 2009 he also won gold on individual routes. In 2012 he won the Jukola for Kalevan Rasti .
