Eystein Weltzien
Eystein Weltzien (born December 14, 1949 ) is a former Norwegian orienteer and cross-country skier .
In 1978 he was with the Norwegian team, in which Jan Fjærestad , Svein Jacobsen and Egil Johansen ran alongside Weltzien , relay world champion. He had already won bronze with her in 1974 in Silkeborg and also took third place in the individual competition behind Swedes Bernt Frilén and Jan Fjærestad.
Weltzien was also a good cross-country skier. At Norwegian championships he won five times in a row with the relay of IL i BUL from 1972 to 1976 . In 1975 he was awarded the Norwegian Sports Prize Egebergs Ærespris , an award for athletes who have been successful in several sports.
His children Audun Weltzien and Ingunn Hultgreen Weltzien are also active as orienteers.
