Holger Hott , formerly Holger Hott Johansen , (born April 8, 1974 in Norway ) is a Norwegian orienteer who starts for the Kristiansand OK club .

Career

Holger Hott has been one of the top athletes in orienteering for almost 10 years and it wasn't until 2006 that he won his first gold medal in a very emotional moment when he won the long distance run at the World Championships in Aarhus, Denmark. Before that, he won two bronze medals (2004, 2005), also over the long distance. He was part of the Norwegian relay team that won the gold medal at the 2005 World Championships in Japan, and in 2004 he also won the relay world cup.

Holger Hott runs for the Kristiansand OK club and previously worked for the IF Trauma, IL Express, IL Imås, IFK Lidingö and Bækkelaget Sportsklubb clubs.

He is married to the Canadian orienteer Sandy Hott. In spring 2007 the two decided to shorten their last name from Hott Johansen to simple Hott. They had been considering this abbreviation for a long time and decided on it before their first son was born in June 2007.
