Urs Flühmann

Urs Flühmann (* 1962 ) is a former Swiss orienteer . In 1991 and 1993 he won world championship gold with the Swiss relay.

Flühmann won his first World Championship medal in 1985 in Bendigo, Australia with the relay. The Swiss Willi Müller , Martin Howald , Flühmann and Alain Gafner won the bronze medal behind Norway and Sweden. In 1987 the Swiss relay reached second place. In the individual race, Flühmann was third behind the Swede Kent Olsson and the Norwegian Tore Sagvolden .

After the Swiss season only finished fifth in Sweden in 1989, it won the title in Czechoslovakia in 1991 and in the United States in 1993.

Flühmann won the Swiss championship on the long distance in 1989 and 1983, 1985 and 1987 with the relay of the OLK Rafzerfeld . In 1999 he won the Swedish relay race Tiomila in the relay of the Norwegian top club Halden SK .

On May 20, 2006, he married the orienteer Käthi Widler in Weisslingen .
