Sigurd Dæhli

Sigurd Dæhli (* 1953 ) is a former Norwegian orienteer and ski orienteer .

Dæhli was in 1977 in Joensuu before the Swede Rolf Pettersson Nordic champion in orienteering. In the first Norwegian season with Eystein Weltzien , Egil Johansen and Svein Jacobsen he won the silver medal. In 1979 he was first at the first official Norwegian championships in night orienteering. In 1980 and 1982, the Norwegian relay team won the Nordic Championships. In the orienteering ski race Dæhli started at the 1982 World Championships in Austria and was third in the individual race behind the Finns Olavi Svanberg and Pertti Tikka . With the relay, he and Finn Kinneberg , Tore Sagvolden and Morten Berglia took silver behind Sweden. At the next two world championships in ski orienteering, Norway reached the podium with Dæhli, in 1986 in Bulgaria the relay with Sigurd Dæhli, Lars Lystad , Audun Knutsen and Vidar Benjaminsen won gold.

Even at an advanced age, Dæhli continued to take part in orienteering competitions and has already won the world championship among veterans several times. His son Magne Dæhli , born in 1987 , also competes in orientation competitions and has already won a world title with the Norwegian junior relay.
