Carsten Jørgensen

Carsten Jørgensen (born October 25, 1970 ) is a Danish long-distance runner. Jørgensen is a cross-country specialist and celebrated his greatest successes in cross-country and orienteering .

Career

In 1994 Carsten Jørgensen moved from Fredensborg AK to Blovstrød Løverne , the club he would belong to for the rest of his career.

In 1995 he won the bronze medal over the long distance at the Orienteering World Championships in Detmold . Two years later he became world champion in this sport with the Danish team. In December 1997 he finally managed to triumph at the European Cross Country Championships in Oeiras .

In 1998 he set Danish records over 10,000 meters and in the half marathon, and he also defended his Nordic championship in cross country. In 1999 he won the Eurocross in Luxembourg .

In 2002 and 2004 he won bronze and silver again with the Danish orienteering team at the European Championships, which were reintroduced in 2000 and take place every two years.
