Olivier Adam (born July 12, 1974 in Draveil near Paris) is a French writer and screenwriter .

Life

Olivier Adam published his first novel Je vais bien, ne t'en fais pas (German: Don't worry, I'm fine ) in 1999 , which was filmed in 2006 by Philippe Lioret under the same title . Since then, Adam has edited a number of contemporary French literature and published three books for young people, numerous novels and the short book Passer l'hiver , which was awarded the Prix ​​Goncourt de la Nouvelle .

Critics attest Adam that with his "simple, factual but concise writing style and his thematic preference for the simple, marginalized or emotionally impaired people" in the past few years he "strongly and lastingly shaped the image of contemporary French literature".

For the script of the film Je vais bien, ne t'en fais pas , Adam and his co-writer Lioret received an Étoile d'Or as “best screenwriter”. He also wrote the script for Lioret's film Welcome , which was released in 2009.

In his most recent novel “The Sum of All Possibilities” Adam traces the loosely connected fates of people who live on the Côte d'Azur, a place of longing, but who have lost all hopes and dreams themselves. The novel was praised for its "clear and beautiful language", with which it tells of deep sadness and hopeful new beginnings.

Adam lives in Paris , is married and has a daughter and a son.
