Søren Bobach (born April 25, 1989 in Silkeborg ) is a Danish orienteer . In 2014 he became world champion in the sprint.

career

In 2006, as a 17-year-old, Bobach surprisingly became the junior world champion in the middle distance. In 2008 and 2009 a total of three bronze medals and one silver medal followed at the Junior World Championships. In 2010 he made his debut in the European Championship and World Cup with the active players. He achieved his first top ten placement in this area at the 2012 World Championships in Lausanne as ninth in the sprint and sixth in the relay. In 2014 in Italy he won the world championship gold in the sprint ahead of Daniel Hubmann from Switzerland and Tue Lassen from Denmark. He ran in the newly introduced mixed relay competition with Emma Klingenberg , Tue Lassen and Maja Møller Alm .

He starts for the clubs OK Pan Århus (Denmark) and Halden SK (Norway). With Halden, he won the Jukola season in 2011 and the Tiomila season in 2012 . His younger sister Ida Bobach is also internationally successful as an orienteer.
