Jerker Lysell (born April 27, 1989 in Bollnäs ) is a Swedish orienteer .

career

The sprint specialist Lysell started in 2010 in Trondheim at its first active world championships. He finished 11th in the sprint. In 2011 he celebrated his first World Cup success at the knockout sprint in Gothenburg . At the end of the 2011 season, he finished ninth in the overall World Cup. Lysell's form curve also increased the following year when he won the bronze medal in the sprint at the home European championships behind his compatriot Jonas Leandersson and the Bulgarian Kiril Nikolow and at the same time with the Swiss Daniel Hubmann . He finished the overall World Cup in 2012 in fifth place. In 2013 he took part in the World Games in Cali , Colombia , and also won the bronze medal here, this time behind Matthias Kyburz from Switzerland and the Russian Andrei Chramow . In 2014 he was runner-up in the sprint behind Leandersson in Palmela, Portugal, and Lysell finished fourth in the sprint in Venice at the 2014 World Championships, as did the newly introduced sprint relay, where Lysell started for the Swedish team.

Lysell belongs to the association Rehns BK from his hometown Bollnäs. He was Swedish Sprint Champion in 2011 and 2012.
