Ruth Humbel Näf
Ruth Humbel Näf (born July 23, 1957 in Baden , resident in Birmenstorf and Ittenthal ) is a Swiss politician ( CVP ), health care consultant and orienteer .
Life
Humbel lives in Birmenstorf , is a trained primary school teacher as well as a lawyer and worked from 2001 to 2008 as head of the Central Region of the santésuisse health insurance association . From 1981 to 2003 she sat on the Grand Council of the Canton of Aargau and was elected to the National Council in the Swiss parliamentary elections in 2003 . Humbel is married to the ancient historian Beat Näf , with whom she has two children. The CVP politician Beda Humbel was her uncle.
As a health politician in the National Council, she is a member of the Commission for Social Security and Health , the State Political Commission and the Pardon Commission . Until 2007 she was a member of the National Council's Security Commission and the Judicial Commission of the United Federal Assembly .

Humbel is president of the IG rare diseases interest group in Bern and a member of the IG Biomedical Research and Innovation in Basel .
Sports
Ruth Humbel was a long-time top runner in orienteering and from 1975 to 1987 a member of the Swiss national team. She took part in seven world championships and won three bronze medals with the relay. She was Swiss champion in individual orienteering five times . In 2010 she won the orienteering world championship in sprint and long distance senior citizens (category W 50).
