Gabriela Suter (2019)

Gabriela Suter (born December 12, 1972 in Aarau ) is a Swiss politician. She is president of the SP Aargau and national councilor .

Political career

Gabriela Suter grew up in the Lenzburg region . She studied history and German at the University of Zurich and graduated with a licentiate . In addition, she graduated from secondary schools. She worked for many years as a high school teacher at the old canton school in Aarau . In 2017 she also completed an additional master's degree in nonprofit and public management . She is currently working as a human resources officer and project manager.

Suter has been President of the Canton of Aargau SP since 2018 . From 2006 to 2017 she was the SP resident councilor of Aarau , and from 2015 to 2018 she was also president of the SP Aarau. In October 2016 she was elected to the Grand Council of the Canton of Aargau , to which she was a member until the end of November 2019. She is also a member of the management of SP Switzerland . In October 2019 she was elected to the National Council. In the National Council she is a member of the Environment, Spatial Planning and Energy Commission UREK-N.

Suter lives with her family in Aarau.
