Martina Bircher

Martina Bircher (born April 13, 1984 in Zurich ; resident in Sins ) is a Swiss politician ( SVP ) and business economist .

Life and work

Martina Bircher grew up in Niederwil and attended the upper school after primary school, which she completed with the district school. She then completed a commercial apprenticeship at Alu Menziken . She studied business administration with a focus on controlling at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland. After working in the retail sector for several years, she moved to Swiss Post as a project manager in 2014 .

Political career

In 2013, Bircher ran for the Swiss People's Party (SVP) as a councilor in her new municipality in Aarburg . In 2014, she took over the social, health and youth department as a councilor. From 2017 she worked in the Grand Council of the Canton of Aargau in the Social and Health Commission. After her candidacy for the National Council , Bircher was elected in the elections on October 20, 2019 . At the same time she announced her resignation from the Grand Council.

Personal

Martina Bircher has lived in Aarburg with her partner since 2012. Their son was born in 2018.
