Irène Kälin
Irène Kälin (born February 6, 1987 in Lenzburg ; resident in Einsiedeln ) is a Swiss politician ( Greens ).
Live and act
2007 Kalin graduated from the baccalaureate at the secondary school Leonhard in Basel . From 2009 she studied Islamic Studies and Religious Studies at the University of Zurich and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in 2013 . Since 2014 she has been completing the “Religious Cultures” master’s program at the University of Bern . From 2015 to 2016 she worked as a union secretary at Unia Aargau and is now president of the Aargau umbrella organization for employees, ArbeitAargau.
From January 2010 to November 2017, Kälin was a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Aargau . There she was a deputy in three commissions: the commission for task planning and finance (2010–2013), the naturalization commission (2013–2015) and the commission for the environment, building, transport, energy and regional planning (2013–2015); from 2017 she was a member of the business audit committee . From April 2013 to November 2017 she was co-leader of the Greens in the Grand Council.
Kälin was Vice President of Green Switzerland from 2012 to 2014.
In the 2015 parliamentary elections , she ran for both the National Council and the Council of States . On November 27, 2017, she took over the seat of the resigned Jonas Fricker in the National Council as runner-up on the electoral list of the Greens . In the elections in 2019 her position as the National Council was confirmed.
Kälin has been in a relationship with journalist Werner De Schepper since 2013 . The couple moved from Lenzburg to Oberflachs in 2018 , and their son was born in the same year.
