Pascale Bruderer Wyss (born July 28, 1977 in Baden ; legal resident in Baar , Baden, Römerswil and Rorschach ) is a startup entrepreneur and former Swiss politician ( SP ). In 2009/10 she was President of the National Council .

Life

Bruderer grew up as the youngest of three daughters in Baden (AG). She attended the compulsory elementary school in Baden and the canton school Wettingen , after which she studied political science , constitutional law and social and economic history at the University of Zurich and in Växjö (Sweden) . She completed her studies in 2005 with a licentiate (Master in Political Science). In 2002, when she moved into the National Council for the Aargau SP, she was the youngest member of the National Council to date. At that time she moved up for the resigned Hans Zbinden. A year later she was elected to the National Council for the first time . In the 2007 election she ran for a seat in the Council of States of the Canton of Aargau and again for the National Council. While she did not move into the Council of States in third place, she was confirmed in office as National Councilor with the third highest percentage of votes out of 15 elected. On October 23, 2011, Bruderer was elected Councilor of States of Canton Aargau in the first ballot and was confirmed in office on October 18, 2015. Pascale Bruderer politicizes on the right wing of the SP and belongs to the reform-oriented platform that organizes social liberal party members.

Bruderer set her political priorities particularly in social, health and energy policy. She wants to get young people excited about politics, for which she received the Prix ​​Jeunesse in 2008 . In addition, she campaigned for the inclusion of people with disabilities, was president of the disabled umbrella organization Inclusion Handicap and the parliamentary group Sign Language and sat on the co-presidium of the parliamentary group on disability issues. After being elected in 2008 as vice president of the National Council, the parliament has it for Parliament 2009/2010 with 174 of 182 valid votes cast for the National Council elected. In this office she succeeded the Ticino CVP parliamentarian Chiara Simoneschi-Cortesi . On January 8, 2011, Pascale Bruderer received the SwissAward in the politics category.

Bruderer lives in Nussbaumen AG and is the mother of two daughters (* 2011, * 2014). In 2016 she separated from her husband Urs Wyss. In addition to her Council of States mandate, she worked as managing director of the Aargau Cancer League and was a member of the Pro Seniorweb foundation board . Bruderer is also a jury member at Watt d'Or and a member of the advisory board of the Digital Festival . She belongs to the Young Global Leaders (YGL) community of the World Economic Forum (WEF), sits on the Board of Trustees of the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship, on the Advisory Board of the Swiss Economic Forum (SEF) and the Swiss Media Forum.

On January 25, 2018, Bruderer announced that she would not run for another Council of States legislature from 2019; She justified her resignation by saying that she intended to reorient herself.

She resigned all political offices, switched from politics to entrepreneurship after more than two decades of parliamentary work and is now a partner and executive board member at the IT startup Crossiety. Bruderer is also on the board of directors of BERNEXPO AG and the TX Group .
