Doris Stump (born February 6, 1950 in Zurich ; legal resident in Flawil ) is a Swiss Germanist , publisher and politician ( SP ).

Life

education and profession

Doris Stump grew up in Zurich and Brugg . After graduating from high school , she studied German and English from 1970 to 1977 at the University of Zurich and Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania . In 1984 she received her PhD on Meta from Salis . Between 1978 and 1991, Stump worked as a teacher for German and English at district and canton schools in Aargau . She played a key role in the Swiss National Fund project on Swiss women writers from 1700 to 1945 and helped design the exhibition “And wrote and wrote like a tiger out of the bush”. Today, she is publisher of professional and directs since 2001 the eFeF publishing house founded 1988th As a publisher, she advocates the publication of results from gender research. It calls for the institutionalization of women's and gender research at Swiss universities and the implementation of the findings of this research in all areas of our society, especially in education and law. Stump lives in Wettingen .

Doris Stump was a resident councilor of Wettingen from June 1987 to December 1989 , then a local councilor until 2005 .

From the Swiss parliamentary elections in 1995 she was a member of the National Council , where she was a member of the Commission for the Environment, Spatial Planning and Energy , the delegation to the Council of Europe and the delegation to the Interparliamentary Union . At the Council of Europe she was responsible for two reports on stereotypical representations of women and men in the media and on prenatal gender selection in Europe . She calls for action against the targeted killing of female fetuses . In the parliamentary elections in 2011, she no longer ran.

From May 2010 to April 2015 she was President of Aargauer Spitex and was therefore jointly responsible for the implementation of the care financing and the implementation of the educational concept. Stump also presided over the Spitex in her place of residence Wettingen, which in 2013 expanded its radius to the community of Neuenhof.

Trivia

In mid-2010, Swiss and German tabloids wrongly accused her of being responsible, among other things, for the term parent instead of mother and father in the language guide of the Bern city administration. In contrast, the city of Bern's language guide was about zebra crossings. Stump lodged a complaint against the submission to the Swiss Press Council , which was granted on all points.
