Walter Glur

Walter Glur (born April 11, 1943 in Oftringen ; entitled to residency there) is a Swiss politician ( SVP ).

Life

Glur attended primary school in Oftringen and the district school in Zofingen , completed an agricultural apprenticeship in Vaud and the technical school at LBBZ Liebegg; he completed his training with the master's examination.

From 1981 to 1999 he was a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Aargau . In the 1999 elections he was elected to the National Council, which he belonged to until 2011, when he did not run again. He was a member of the State Political Commission for four years and a member of the Business Audit Commission for eight years . He belonged to the agricultural and commercial groups. The main focus of his political work was agricultural and medium-sized business policy, the achievement of better framework conditions for SMEs and agriculture, a self-confident appearance of Switzerland in European politics, the safeguarding of social security without tax increases and the avoidance of a deficit state budget .

From 1979 to 2007, Glur was President of the Central Swiss Cattle Fattening Association, now Swiss Beef Mittelland. Today he is Honorary President of Swiss Beef Mittelland. From 2001 to 2009 he was Vice President of the Aargau Farmers 'Association and until 2008 a member of the board of the Swiss Farmers' Association . From 1992 to 2008 Glur was a member of the board of Proviande , the branch organization of the Swiss meat industry. Walter Glur has been a member of the Board of Directors of Neue Aargauer Bank since 1986 .

Glur has been married to the teacher and district judge Annalize Glur geb. King. The marriage produced a daughter and two sons. He ran his farm in Glashütten himself until it was transferred to his younger son Christian Glur , a master farmer and member of the Aargau Grand Council. The older son Hans Ulrich, also a master farmer, died in 1999.
