Max Chopard-Acklin (born August 30, 1966 in Untersiggenthal , resident in Sonvilier and Untersiggenthal) is a Swiss politician ( SP ).

Life

Chopard-Acklin lives in Nussbaumen and is entitled to reside in Sonvilier and Untersiggenthal. He is married and has one child. He is also the son of the late Max Chopard-Borner , who was also first a member of the Grand Council and from 1969 to 1987 a member of the National Council.

Max Chopard-Acklin was from November 1991 to March 1993 and from April 1997 to March 2009 in the Grand Council of the Canton of Aargau . March 2, 2009 until being voted out as a result of seat loss of his party in the general election of October 18, 2015 he was a member of the National Council . Chopard-Acklin was a member of the Commission for the Environment, Spatial Planning and Energy (UREK-NR). He is primarily involved in social and environmental issues.

On October 23, 2016, Max Chopard-Acklin made a political comeback with his re-election to the Grand Council of the Canton of Aargau.

When he was young, Chopard-Acklin was an activist for the Group for a Switzerland Without an Army (GSoA). The question of whether he is still a member of the GSoA led to a lengthy exchange in the National Council in September 2011 as part of the discussion on the 2010 Army Report. Chopard-Acklin then told the media that he had previously paid contributions as a passive member, but is currently no longer doing so.

From 2010–2015, Chopard-Acklin was President of the Parliamentary Group on Police and Security Issues.
