Beat Flach (born January 21, 1965 in Bern ; legal resident in Maur ) is a Swiss politician ( glp ).

education and profession

Flach completed an apprenticeship as a Rhine navigation seaman in Basel , but then worked, among other things, as a locksmith, model maker and fitter. From 2001 he worked for various construction companies as managing director, authorized signatory and project manager. After attending the high school for adults, Flach studied part-time at the University of Friborg and the University of Lucerne . In 2006 he graduated as a Master of Laws . This was followed by a postgraduate degree in spatial planning at the ETH Zurich until 2009 . Since 2007 he has been employed as a lawyer at the Swiss Association of Engineers and Architects .

politics

In 2008, Flach was one of the founding members of the Aargau glp cantonal party. On March 8, 2009 he was elected to the Grand Council of the Canton of Aargau . In the elections on October 23, 2011 , he was elected to the National Council . He is a member of the Legal Affairs Commission, the Security Policy Commission and the Judicial Commission. Flach is committed to a. in the areas of human rights (war material exports, corporate responsibility, abolition of the «majesty's insulting article») and social policy (restructuring procedures for highly indebted people, vocational training for young people with disabilities). In the 2019 parliamentary elections , he was confirmed in his office as National Councilor.

Personal

Flach is married, has a son and lives in Auenstein . In the Swiss Army he held the degree of soldier. From 1986 to 2006, Flach served in the Rupperswil-Auenstein fire department in the rank of officer. He is involved in several foundations and associations. Since 2018, he has been President of the Nature and Economy Foundation , which promotes natural- looking corporate areas, the entrepreneurial association Neue Energie Aargau, Aarau, and Vice President of Casafair (formerly Hausverein), an association for environmentally conscious and fair house and living owners.
