Casafair

Casafair is a Swiss interest group that represents the interests of homeowners and owners of other residential property (such as condominiums ).

According to its own mission statement, the association advocates economical use of the soil, climate-friendly construction, healthy living and fair rental and neighborhood conditions. The central secretariat is in Bern .

The association was founded in 1988 under the name Hausverein Schweiz ( French : HabitatDurable Suisse ) as a result of the vote on the federal people's initiative " Urban and rural initiative against land speculation" , which was rejected with 69.2% no votes. The house club was renamed in May 2019 and has been operating under the name Casafair ever since .

Casafair has 14,000 members (as of 2020) and sees itself as the alternative to the home owners association . Eight sections are committed to the goals of the association in all parts of Switzerland. The roof forms the central board, which Claudia Friedl ( SP - National Councilor) presides.
