49th legislative period of the Swiss Federal Assembly
The 49th legislative period of the Swiss Federal Assembly lasted from December 5, 2011 to November 30, 2015. The meeting place for the National Council and Council of States was the Federal Palace in Bern .
Sessions
As a rule, four three-week sessions per calendar year take place in the Federal Assembly . In the event of a high workload or due to extraordinary events, the councils can be convened for additional sessions (special sessions or extraordinary sessions). In the 49th legislative period, the following special sessions were held in addition to the regular sessions:
- Extraordinary session of the Council of States: December 6, 2011
- Extraordinary session of the Council of States: December 21, 2011
- National Council special session: 2. – 3. May 2012
- Extraordinary session of the Council of States: March 14, 2012
- Extraordinary session of the Council of States: March 15, 2012
- National Council special session: 15.-17. April 2013
- Extraordinary session of the National Council: April 17, 2013
- National Council special session: 5–8 May 2014
- National Council special session: 4th – 6th May 2015
