Claude Hêche (born December 20, 1952 in Porrentruy , legal domicile in Cornol ) is a Swiss politician ( SP ).

biography

Hêche began his political career in 1983 in the parliament of the canton of Jura . In 1985 he became a member of Courroux's municipal council , where he served as mayor from 1988 to 1994. In 1995 he became a member of the government , which he remained until 2006.

Claude Hêche has been a member of the Council of States since his election in 2007 . There he is a member of the business audit commission, the security policy commission, the commission for traffic and telecommunications and the state policy commission. At the beginning of the 2012 winter session, he was elected second Vice President of the Council of States for one year on November 26, 2012, and first Vice President for one year at the start of the 2013 winter session. In the 2014/15 year of office, Hêche was President of the Council of States. Due to a cantonal term of office restriction, he was no longer able to stand in the 2019 elections and resigned.

Hêche is a draftsman by profession and lives in Courroux. He is widowed and has two children.
