history
The association was founded in 1904, following a call by the FKV founder Hinrich Dunkhase . Initially, it was not named after the village of Esenshamm , but rather from the former community Esenshamm, which fell victim to the community reform. Up to 1980 there were consequently 2 subgroups with partly separate board positions (own treasurer, amusement committees, railroad man, specialist) in the association, the subgroups Esenshamm and Kleinensiel . This separation no longer exists today. Until the 1960s, the club only operated toilet shooting and that exclusively for men. At the beginning of the 1960s, street boaring took place in club competitions for the first time, and a short time later a first men's team was formed, which first played friendly matches with other clubs, a little later also took part in the district cup and has been involved in league games since the late 1970s. Since the mid-seventies, a women's division has also been established in the club, which has also been involved in league games since the end of the 1970s. At the beginning of the 1980s, youth work in the club was clearly structured and intensified, which has ensured a steady stream of young talent to this day, so that second and sometimes even third teams have been formed for over 20 years. For three decades all youth classes (A to F youth) have been fully occupied. Since the mid-1990s, teams in the senior age groups have also been formed, and today all of them (age groups III to V) have their own teams.
Divisions
Klootschießen
The club's Klootschießer division is run by the so-called Bahnweiser. This initiates training and supervises participation in regional competitions. In addition, he nominates the teams for the Frisian all-around in consultation with the technical supervisors. At the moment, the club is only staging a standing fight, not a field fight. Nevertheless, it still enjoys an above-average status in the club. Measured by the titles achieved per year, it is the most successful division in the club.
Boßeln
As with almost all other club shooting clubs, the Boßel division has the highest priority in the club at KV Esenshamm. With 100 active members, it is also the largest division in terms of personnel. At the moment (as of 2011) 15 teams (including 6 youth teams) take part in regional and national games. The club has been able to produce great talents again and again in the last few decades and achieve a large number of individual titles, but in the team area only the women's team plays permanently in the higher divisions. The first men's team has not yet made it into the supra-regional area.
Sling ball
In the club only the variant of the throwing ball is operated. Although the club has more than 20 sling ball players, it does not want to weaken the sling ball clubs established in the region by setting up their own teams. Throws are part of the Frisian all-around competition and during the Klootschießertraining.
Irish Road Bowling
Irish road bowling, mostly called iron ball throwing, is becoming more important every year. More and more throwers are also qualifying for national competitions and sometimes also for the championship tour. This variant of the street boating is operated in spring and summer and is looked after by the Boßel specialist control room.
Holland ball
This Dutch variant of the sport has only been practiced in the club for a short time and is looked after by the "Bahnweiser Klootschießen". On the occasion it is also trained.
Frisian all-around
In the Frisian all-around competition, in addition to kloot shooting, street booing and throwing ball throwing, pasture boosing is also practiced.
Internet presence
The club has an independent website with a lot of information about the club and Frisian sport in general. For this purpose, the club also operates a YouTube channel to illustrate the sport.
