Maja Riniker

Maja Riniker (* 1978 ) is a Swiss politician . She has been a member of the Swiss National Council since 2019 .

Life

Maja Riniker grew up in Lenzburg and completed a commercial apprenticeship with a professional diploma at what was then the Swiss Bank Corporation (today: UBS) in Aarau. This was followed by a stay abroad in the USA as well as years of work in banks and in management consultancy in Zurich, at the same time she completed a university degree while working. From 2009 to 2015 she worked as a project manager in the corporate staff of the Psychiatric Services Canton Aargau (PDAG) in Brugg. From 2016 to 2018 she headed the Diabetes Aargau office. At the same time, she has been managing the finances and bookkeeping of her husband's medical practice since 2013.

Political career

Maja Riniker was a councilor in the canton of Aargau, where she was president of the Public Safety Commission (SIK). She is also co-president of the FDP women region Aarau.

Maja Riniker was elected to the National Council on October 20, 2019 and sworn in there on December 2, 2019.
