Johann Puliant of Eptingen

Johann Puliant von Eptingen was first mentioned in 1356 († 1402 ) and was mayor of Basel .

Life

Johann Puliant von Eptingen came from the family of the Lords of Eptingen on Blochmont and was born as the son of Johann Puliant von Eptingen and his wife Gertrud, nee. Marshal, born.

He was a knight and fiefdom of the Count of Pfirt and the Bishop of Basel .

He was a member of the Basel council and was mayor ten times from 1375 to 1398.

In 1400 he received the village of Bartenheim as a fief from the Count of Habsburg , which passed to his son-in-law Gerotheus von Rathsamhausen after his death.

Johann Puliant von Eptingen was first married to Katharina Adelheid, daughter of Ottman Schaler, Mayor of Basel, and his second marriage to Anna, widowed von Klingenberg. His children were:

  • Peterman von Eptingen, Herr von Bisel , married to Adelheid von Gradwiler;
  • Götzmann von Eptingen;
  • Adelheid von Eptingen was first married to Götzmann Münch and secondly to Gerotheus von Rathsamhausen;
  • Engeltrud von Eptingen, nun in the Klingenthal monastery ;
  • Clara von Eptingen, nun in the Klingenthal monastery;
  • Lisa von Eptingen, nun in the Klingenthal monastery.
