Juho Mikkonen (born December 28, 1990 in Kuhmo ) is a Finnish cross-country skier .

Career

Mikkonen has mainly competed in the Scandinavian Cup since 2009 . So far he has achieved four top ten placements, including two second places. He ran his first World Cup race in March 2009 in Lahti , which he finished in 62nd place in the sprint. At the U23 World Championships in Liberec in 2013 , he won silver in the sprint. He got his first World Cup points in February 2014 in Dobbiaco with tenth place in the sprint. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , he finished 43rd in the sprint. At the Finnish cross-country skiing championships in Vantaa in 2014 , he won bronze in the sprint. At the beginning of the 2014/15 season he came 52nd at the Nordic Opening in Lillehammer . In February 2015 he won the Finlandia-hiihto classic over 50 km. In the 2015/16 season he came in seven times in the World Cup, twice in the points. At the Finnish championships in 2016 he won over 7.5 km classic and in the pursuit bronze and over 50 km classic silver. In the sprint he became Finnish champion. In February 2016 he finished third in the Finlandia-hiihto over 42 km classic.

In the 2018/19 season he won the Finlandia hiihto over 50 km freestyle and the Vuokatti hiihto over 50 km freestyle.
