Outi Grondahl starts for Lappeen Riento . She began her international career in 2004 in races in the Continental and Scandinavian Cups as well as in FIS races . After several good races in the Scandinavian Cup in 2010 with several top ten results, including a sixth place in a freestyle sprint in Spaatind , the Finn was able to contest her first races in the cross-country world cup in Lahti . In the pursuit she was 37th, with Marjaana Pitkänen , Kirsi Perälä and Maarit Korpi ninth in the relay race. A year later , she came back to the same place in the World Cup and was 65 in a pursuit. At the Finnish Championships 2010 in Keuruu , Grondahl was runner-up behind Riitta-Liisa Roponen in the 5-kilometer freestyle. In the pursuit, finishing fourth, she missed another medal by three seconds.
For the 2012/13 season , Grondahl switched to biathlon. She contested her first races at the start of the season in Idre in the IBU Cup . In two sprint races she was 82nd and 56th, the latter result being her best in the series so far. In Ruhpolding , she contested her first races in the Biathlon World Cup in 2013 and was 89th in a sprint and 18th in a lapped Finnish relay with Kaisa Mäkäräinen , Mari Laukkanen and Sanna Markkanen . In Sochi she achieved her best result in the World Cup so far with an 87th place in an individual.
