North American Summer Biathlon Championships

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The North American Summer Biathlon Championships have been held since 2007. This continental championships see the change in Canadian Canmore ( Alberta ) and the US city of Jericho ( Vermont ) instead. For many years the field of participants consisted almost exclusively of participants from one of the two countries, supplemented by guest appearances by European (summer) biathletes and had a family character. In some years, three or fewer athletes started in individual disciplines. Only in 2014 was there a balanced field of participants with athletes from both countries. The athletes start on roller skis over different distances in often changing individual disciplines (sprint, pursuit, mass start) and in different age groups. In 2010 cross-country competitions were also held.
