Career

The student from Granada has been practicing biathlon since 2006. In the same year she competed in her first international competitions in the Junior European Cup in Obertilliach . In 2007 she ran her first Junior World Championship in Martell and was 64th in the sprint and 67th in the individual. A year later, the Spaniard was able to achieve better results in Ruhpolding . In the sprint she was 53rd, in the pursuit 46th, in the individual she was even 26th. A 14th place in the sprint at the Junior World Championships in Summer Biathlon in Haute-Maurienne was the best result at this event. The 2009 Junior World Championships in Canmore brought mediocre results with 40th place in the individual and 38th in the sprint and pursuit. A first career highlight was participation in the 2009 Biathlon World Championships in Pyeongchang . At the World Cup in South Korea, Padial was able to finish 99th in singles and 107th in the sprint. Victoria Padial took part in the 2010 Winter Olympics. Her best result was 86th place in the individual. The 2010 European Biathlon Championships in Otepää brought the results 53 in the individual, 46 in the sprint and 42 in the pursuit. She was 87 in the sprint.

In the IBU Cup, Padial achieved her best result so far as 19th of a sprint in Martell of the season . At the European Biathlon Championships 2011 in Ridnaun , she finished 40th in the individual, 46th in the sprint and was lapped in the pursuit race and taken out of the race. Padial had her best season in the World Cup so far in the 2012/2013 season . She achieved her ten best results, including five places in the top 50 in the World Cup. In Oberhof she was able to qualify for a pursuit race for the first time as 44th. In this she took 49th place. In Sochi she won her first World Cup point in an individual as 40th towards the end of the season. At the Summer Biathlon World Championships 2013 in Forni Avoltri , she placed comparatively well in eighth place in the sprint and left behind some far more highly rated runners. In the pursuit race based on the sprint, she won the bronze medal behind Jitka Landová and Anna Bulygina , although she also benefited from the fact that several athletes did not start. It was the first medal for Spain at an international biathlon championship. Padial confirmed her position as the best Spanish biathlete so far at the 2014 European Biathlon Championships in Nové Město na Moravě , where she surprisingly won the silver medal in the sprint behind Marte Olsbu . She was able to defend this position in the pursuit race behind Mona Brorsson .

In Sochi , Padial took part in her second Winter Olympics and finished 54th in the individual, 52nd in the sprint and 46th in the pursuit. In the first race after the games, a sprint in Pokljuka , she achieved the best result of a Spanish biathlete in the World Cup in 20th place.

The CD Sabika athlete has been taking part in cross-country races since 2002 . First she took part in FIS races and in the Continental Cup and often achieved single-digit results in races in Spain. Later, their cross-country races were mainly limited to taking part in the national championships. In 2005 she finished third in the 5-kilometer race and fourth in the pursuit at Candanchú . A year later, she again missed a medal in fourth place in the pursuit in the same place, and came fifth over 5 kilometers. Things went better in 2008 in Baqueira-Beret , where Padial was runner-up behind Eugenia Oliveros in the sprint and behind Laura Orgué in the 30-kilometer run. In 2009 the Spaniard missed another medal in Candanchu over 5 kilometers.
